The DEI Remover mod lets Sims players universally change settings in CAS for race, gender, body type, and relationships for their Sims and of course, the NPCs (non player characters). Universally meaning all of them with one switch. Like a universal remote you may have for your television, one remote for all the devices. Some work, some are still plug and pray. The DEI Remover is on the plug and pray side now. I've heard EA updated the game to disable this mod from working. Other players have said they would be concerned about having it in their game, EA might ban their account.
I don't have the full story. I found the mod online but did not install it. I was curious enough to download it, but its not really what I want.
The ‘DEI Remover 1.0.0’ started in March 2024. I don't know who developed it and chances are they'd rather avoid the chaos, controversy and possible legal trouble from EA now.
EA does have the legal right to choose which mods are... developed, used, not sure which is the right word... with their game. That's understandable. That's why a lot of the adult mods and CC are not supported by EA and other groups.
This mod is described as a parody. Maybe it is.
I won't include any links to the DEI Remover. EA is shutting down sites, forums, people that post the link as quickly as they can. Also, if you want it, you can find it. Be careful though, scan the download for viruses or anything else not so friendly. There is a risk to downloading and installing something with this much controversy. Some people see it as an predatory opportunity.
So how did we get here?
This morning, #TheSims was trending. I expected to find a lot of posts about the latest game update and new fairy pack. I did. I also found this (see below). I had heard nothing about the DEI Remover mod until reading this.
There is a Problem with This Mod
This mod has its own set of options. Of course it isn't going to suit everyone that way. Some people may want a Sim world with all women, Amazons. I've done that. Some may want mainly children, a Lord of the Flies world. There are players devoted to a time period in history. Have you ever thought about building a world in a regional location (like the African mod) where everyone is one race? What about a world where everyone is fat and you want to micro manage them into good health? (I don't think I'm up for that challenge myself).
This mod doesn't give a selection of options. That's the problem.
Why Not Have a Sims 4 CAS Universal Control?
There could be a universal control option to let people set the skin and hair colours, genders, age, pronouns, body types, relationship styles, everything available in CAS. We could have an option to choose a world of feisty Amazon women with one universal switch in CAS. I can come up with more chaotic and crazy ideas to work on with that kind of control over my Sims and NPCs.
More Options for a CAS Universal Control?
I'd like to spay/ neuter all pets without going to each individually. Vet visits are expensive, even virtually. Then there are all those strays...
MCCC has some options and you can use Sims 4 Studio to set CC fashions to be unavailable for random Sims and NPCs. But, EA could add this feature to the game. A universal control to not allow Sims to wear any CC options, unless individually chosen for them.

The Sims game has challenges. You can build a lot of almost any kind. You can build a Sim of almost any kind. You choose their adventures, relationships, mishaps, fashions, even their teeth! Challenge yourself, create a lot and Sim family the complete opposite of what you usually do. The Sims gives people that chance to explore, to "make space for everyone to tell their story". Any Sims that give you trouble can face the ladder less, walled in pool. You're the Dungeon Master in this game.
